“She sings of joy in a world where happiness no longer seems possible and reminds us deep down that life is never anything but a ballad” (France Inter, 2024). Flavia Coelho filled the Olympia in Paris last March. Without a doubt, she will make a success of her show opening this 39th edition of the Nuits d'Afrique International Festival. Freeing herself from all stereotypes, the radiant and elusive singer, songwriter and composer offers radiant melodies. Suave, she perfectly plays the card of enveloping languor as well as that of infectious gaiety, having fun elegantly combining samba, bossa-nova, pagode and forró from the Northeast with reggae, amapiano, G-funk and house. Praised by critics, her latest album, Ginga (2024), testifies to her plural identity, which has built through exposure to multiple musical influences, between the Parisian suburbs and the favelas of Rio.
